Rap legend, Coolio, dead at 59

Hip hop legend Coolio has died at the age of 59.

West coast hip hop legend and Grammy-winning rapper Artis Leon Ivey Jr., known professionally as Coolio, has sadly passed away at the age of 59.

Reports about the iconic 90s rapper’s death in Los Angeles, California, were confirmed this evening.

Best known for his 1995 hit song, “Gangsta’s Paradise,” Coolio also achieved commercial success with other hit songs such as “Fantastic Voyage” & “Aw, Here It Goes” – the theme song for Nickelodeon’s Kenan and Kel Show.

Authorities have not yet released an official cause of death.

Tributes for the late rapper have begun to pour in on social media.
