On September 30, 2020, Haiti’s Ministry of Economy & Finance confirmed that the Council of Ministers had adopted a 2020-2021 Haiti National Budget in the amount of 254,704,000,000 billion Haitian Gourdes.
The total budget amounts to nearly 3.86 Billion U.S. Dollars. – (Estimated U.S Dollars/HTG conversation based on the official BRH reference rate of 65.9193 HTG to $1 USD on 10/1/2020).
The 2020-2021 Haiti Budget was formally made public in the Haitian government’s official newspaper publication, Le Moniteur, on October 5, 2020.
The 2020-2021 national budget was prepared with the following economic assumptions:
- GDP Growth – 2.4%
- Year-end inflation estimate – 18.2% y/y
- Projected tax revenue – 132.6 billion gourdes
- Fiscal pressure – 8.4% (vs. 6.4% for the prior year)
- Net cash issues – 25 billion gourdes
- Monetary financing limited to – 37.1 billion gourdes
Haiti’s national budget fiscal year starts on October 1, 2020, and ends on September 31, 2021.
