President Jovenel Moise has appointed Dr. Ariel Henry as the new Prime Minister of Haiti.
The appointment was made public earlier today in Le Moniteur, the official newspaper publication of the Haitian government.
Dr. Henry will replace the current Acting Interim Prime Minister, Claude Joseph.
In a tweet, the Haitian President expressed the ambitious tasks that await the new prime minister, which includes, among other things:
- Forming a government that is inclusive of all vital forces in the country
- Addressing current issues of crime and insecurity
- Supporting the CEP with successfully conducting general elections and the constitutional referendum.
